Aaron A. Romney is a partner with Lax & Neville LLP. His practice is focused on the representation of individuals and businesses involved in complex financial litigation or facing complex financial challenges, including commercial litigation, creditor/debtor litigation, bankruptcy, insurance coverage, and securities and investment disputes. Aaron has extensive experience representing bankruptcy trustees and receivers appointed at the request of the Securities Exchange Commission, frequently in the context of claw-back litigation and/or actions concerning alleged fraud that precipitated the bankruptcy or receivership. He routinely guides clients through all stages of high-stakes litigation, has successfully tried cases before Connecticut's state and federal courts, and has successfully arbitrated investment disputes before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority ("FINRA"). Aaron approaches every engagement with an eye toward achieving clients' goals in the most practical, cost-effective, and efficient manner, but he will try any case where the circumstances require it.

Upon graduation from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2008, Aaron served at the Connecticut Appellate Court as judicial clerk to the Honorable Justice Francis M. McDonald, retired Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court, and the Honorable Robert I. Berdon, retired Associate Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court. Aaron has been selected for membership into the Fairfield County Chapter of the American Inns of Court, a prestigious organization of lawyers and judges whose mission is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills.
